JJ and Denise Johnson
The Johnsons both started shooting in 2003, although separately. They first met at the first JP Enterprises' Rocky Mountain 3-Gun when they RO'd different stages. In 2004, they worked together on the briefcase stage at RM3G, and then...well, the rest is history! They got married at 3-Gun Nationals in 2005 in Vegas. That year, JJ was shooting Open and finished very well, and Denise won Nationals two days after they got married and was top lady at Ft Benning, DPMS and Rocky Mountain!
Now, JJ shoots He-Man Iron as often as he can, recently taking first at the 2013 SMM3G, and together they put on the first He-Man Nationals in Raton, NM 2012. Since 2007, they have been Rocky Mountain 3-Gun and travelling together across the country to participate in as many 3-Guns as their schedules allow! Denise is a middle school teacher and JJ is a 27 year military vet who is now working at the Air Force Academy's Wings of Blue!
